Punjab announces dates for summer vacation in schools
The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has announced the summer vacation in the province to begin on July 1.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the annual exams for class eight will extend from June 7 to June 25. The results will be announced around June 30 while the summer vacation in the province will start on July 1. The academic session will begin in August, read the notification.
The notification further read that students of grades one and two will be giving the oral exams, while the students of remaining primary and secondary classes will undertake written exams. More than five million students from classes 1 to 8 will sit for the examinations. The Examination Commission has ordered strict compliance with the COVID-19 SOPs during the examinations.

پنجاب ایگزامینیشن کمیشن (پی ای سی) نے یکم جولائی سے صوبے میں موسم گرما کی تعطیلات کا آغاز کرنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔
بدھ کے روز جاری کردہ ایک نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق آٹھویں جماعت کے سالانہ امتحانات 7 جون سے 25 جون تک منعقد ہوں گے۔ نتائج کا اعلان 30 جون کے قریب کیا جائے گا جبکہ صوبے بھر میں موسم گرما کی تعطیلات یکم جولائی سے شروع ہوں گی۔
نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق نیا تعلیمی سیشن رواں سال اگست سے شروع ہوگا۔
نوٹیفکیشن میں مزید کہا گیا ہے کہ پہلی اور دوسری جماعت کے طلباء زبانی امتحانات دیں گے جبکہ باقی پرائمری اور سیکنڈری کلاسوں کے طلباء تحریری امتحانات دیں گے۔
نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق پہلی سے 8 ویں جماعت تک کے 50 لاکھ سے زیادہ طلباء امتحانات میں حصہ لیں گے۔
پنجاب ایگزامینیشن کمیشن نے امتحانات کے دوران کورونا سے بچائو کے لیے جاری کردہ سرکاری ایس او پیز پر سختی سے عمل در آمد کا حکم دیا ہے۔
